How many followers do you need to get paid on Snapchat?
Snap's published criteria for a Monetization Program invitation list at least 50,000 followers, plus 15,000 hours of view time in the last 28 days (at least 3,000 of them from Spotlight), Snap Star status, age 18 or the local age of majority, and residence in one of 43 listed countries; entry is by Snap's invitation, and meeting the criteria doesn't guarantee one. Snap publishes no pay rate, so no follower count comes with a known amount.
The Monetization Terms also mention 16+ with parental consent where applicable (ump.age_min_terms, verified 2026-09-26). We treat that as a note, not an equal alternative.

Why followers alone aren't enough

Example inputs (not Snap thresholds): 31,420 followers, 8,420 view-time hours and 1,120 Spotlight hours in the last 28 days, country US, age requirement met. Result: does not meet the published criteria. Shortfalls: 18,580 followers, 6,580 view-time hours and 1,880 Spotlight hours; the binding constraint is Spotlight hours. Pace to close the gap in 30 days: 619.33 followers a day, 535.71 view-time hours a day and 107.14 Spotlight hours a day. The 30-day window is our assumption, not a Snap rule, and the pace for the 28-day view-time totals uses our rolling-window model.
