How much does Snapchat pay creators?
Snap doesn't publish a pay rate, a per-view amount or an RPM, so nobody outside Snap can tell you what a view or an hour of view time pays. Snap's Monetization Terms say payment amounts come from Snap's proprietary formula, which may consider post frequency and timing, the number of ads distributed, use of Snapchat Creative Tools and user engagement, and that in-app amounts are estimates.

Where the money comes from
FACT. Snapchat places ads between Snaps in a Public Story or within Spotlight, and creators in the Monetization Program get a share of the revenue. Snap says ads are served primarily based on time spent watching Stories and Spotlight. Snap doesn't publish the revenue-share percentage.
Getting into the program is by Snap's invitation, and Snap lists 50,000 followers, 15,000 view-time hours in the last 28 days (at least 3,000 from Spotlight), Snap Star status, age and country. Check your numbers against the published criteria
What Snap says affects the amount
The formula's factors: post frequency and timing, number of ads distributed, use of Snapchat Creative Tools, and user engagement.
Spotlight length: Snap says Spotlight videos “must be at least 30 seconds long” to earn revenue.
The ongoing Spotlight rule (enrolled creators): since May 7, 2026, Snap says enrolled creators need at least 100 hours of Spotlight view time in the last 28 days “to qualify for maximum Creator Rewards”. Snap doesn't say what happens below that.
Invalid activity: Snap may exclude artificially inflated views or engagement from what it pays on.

How and when payouts arrive
FACT. Payments are in USD, and the payment provider's fees apply to some withdrawals.
You can cash out once available Creator Rewards reach $100, and you can cash out daily.
Rewards take 14 days to move from Pending to Available.
After you cash out, it typically takes 14 days or longer to reach the Payout Portal (Hyperwallet (Snapchat Payout Portal)).

Other Snap programs that pay creators
FACT. Creator Subscriptions: only for select creators, who Snapchat invites by email; there's no public application. Subscribers pay monthly through their app store, and creators set a price “within the ranges provided by Snap”. Earnings appear in the Creator Rewards Hub and are cashed out through Hyperwallet.
Lens Creator Rewards: for creators 18 or older in 42 listed countries. Top Performer Payouts require a newly submitted public Lens to reach at least 15,000 Qualified Posters within 90 days. Snap publishes no payout amount in our records.
Scenario tool: your numbers, your assumption
Snap publishes no rate, and this tool doesn't estimate what Snap will pay you. It only multiplies two numbers you type in: your views, and a rate you choose to assume. The result is your arithmetic, not a Snapchat figure.

RECOMMENDATION (our suggestion, not Snap's rule). If you want a number tied to your account, use Snap's in-app estimate in the Rewards Hub, and remember Snap calls in-app amounts estimates. Be wary of any page or person quoting a fixed per-view or per-1,000 rate as Snap's. Snap publishes none. If you aren't in the program yet, the useful number is your shortfall, not a rate.
