Snapchat's AI content rules for creators
Snap's Creator Monetization Policy says content made with AI or sophisticated editing tools is monetizable only if it's original, entertaining or informative, not misleading, and the AI use is disclosed in the content or your creator profile. Separately, since July 2026, Snap no longer recommends wholly AI-generated videos on Spotlight. Content enhanced or edited with Snapchat's own AI tools can still be recommended.

FACT. Snap says creators who primarily or frequently publish content “not eligible for recommendation” are most likely not good candidates for monetization. Snap's recommendation guidelines apply to Spotlight, Public Stories and Snap Map, but not to Chat or Private Stories.
Disclose AI use
FACT. Snap asks you to disclose AI use in the content or in your creator profile.
What Snap means by authentic
FACT. Snap's quality guidelines say ranking “rewards authentic, human-made content over wholly AI-generated content created outside of Snapchat”.
Originality still applies
FACT. Monetizable content must be original, with clear creative effort. Reposts have to be highly transformative, for example a reaction with your face visible and you speaking throughout, a review, creative editing, or attributed clips with commentary. Content from simple automation or formulaic assembly isn't monetizable.
Snap's non-exhaustive list of non-monetizable content: unoriginal or automated curation, repetitive or template-based content, reusing the same tile, reposting the same content as new, and misleading engagement bait.
Snap's recommendation guidelines also exclude substandard video quality, flashes without a warning, illegible tile text, certain off-platform links, promotion of accounts on other platforms, and unoriginal content.
Spotlight videos “must be at least 30 seconds long” to earn revenue, AI or not.

FACT. Commercial content (paid, gifted, loaned, or promoting your own products) must be labeled with Snap's paid partnership tool.
