API keys for developers

This page is for developers using the API or MCP. It is not the calculator. The tools are free. What is free.

If you already have a key, send it as Authorization: Bearer or X-API-Key. Only a hash is stored. A key that does not match returns INVALID_API_KEY.

Anonymous access needs no key: 60 requests per 60 seconds and 5000 per day. A free key is higher: 600 requests per 60 seconds and 50000 per day. Issuing a key is limited to 5 per network: IPv4 address or IPv6 /56.

The key is shown once. This page does not ask for email. Anonymous access is available without a key.
